It was wonderful to be able to escape to Scotland.

He captured us again with his history, his castles and his special colors. This time we spent the afternoon at the Lake of Menteith, which at that time of day offered a range of incredible blues, grays and greens.

I wanted to make a watercolor that captured those colors of the sunset, where the greens disappear and turn into blues.

It is at that time of day, when the light makes it barely possible to distinguish where the water ends and the shore begins.
